(More customer reviews)This feeder did not last a week. The Orioles sat on the perches to feed. One perch broke off on the third day and the other two the next day. The inside got moldy on the hanger in a few days and it was impossible to open the bottle or base to thoroughly clean it out before refilling. I now have a totally worthless feeder and have used it for less than a week. This was a gift from my granddaughter so I don't have a receipt or I would return it. The company should read this and send me a refund. Don't buy this product, it is worthless junk!

Bird's Choice Single Cake Upside Down Suet Feeder w/ Hanging Cable Review

I've had one of these for six months now, and have done everything under the sun to get birds to come to it. I've pushed suet out the bottom to make it more visible. I've hung a regular suet cage under it. I've got lots of woodpeckers here and other small birds using the suet cage (I go through a suet cake every 4 or 5 days in the summer, about every other day now that it's colder) but the birds just haven't found the suet in the upside-down feeder. Well, one or two have pecked a little at it, but they don't come back, and others don't follow them. When I put those very same suet cakes in the other feeder, there are plenty of birds.
I thought this was a great way to keep the grackles out of the suet (they were eating 2 cakes a day), but it sure didn't get suet to the birds I wanted to give it to. My solution was to use Thistle and Safflower seed in the regular feeders -- grackles don't like either. Then I got a weight-sensitive feeder for the sunflower seed and it closes up when a grackle tries to feed. Since they've stopped coming for the seed, they don't bother the suet either.

Belle Fleur 50125 Lighthouse Lantern Bird Feeder Review

This Lantern has larger square openings, yet the birds still prefer to perch on the cage and lean in to feed. However they LOVE it and it attracts a wide variety of birds. Keep it free standing on a hook or pole away from trees, or else squirrels will jump on it upside down and eat from the open seed tray bottom. Strong construction yet lightweight.

(More customer reviews)Well, I bought this one because it looked great. The squirrels absolutely love it!! The birds, not so much. I haven't seen any feathered friends feeding at it. Just those pesky rats with bushy tails. Another future garage sale item. I think I'll ask five bucks for this one because it cost so much. It does look nice hanging on the pergola, when there isn't a squirrel hanging on it stuffing his or her big belly with my expensive seeds.

(More customer reviews)I was excited to see this and had wanted an interesting bird feeder to give as a Christmas gift. However when I received it, the blue plastic sides were cracked and broken in multiple places. It might have had something heavy set on it, but I wasn't taking any chances. This item was returned to Amazon for a full refund (thanks to Amazon for the fast response and wonderful customer service.)
To add a note, there is an underwater "sea scape/pattern" on the blue plastic sides that I was not aware of from the pictures or description. Looked like saltwater fish, bubbles, seaweed. I would have preferred the plastic just to be plain with no added design, since you wouldn't see it once it was full.
Wish it had been made of glass, or more substantial. I like the idea of it.

Millet Spray Holder Review

(More customer reviews)When I first saw this contraption, I was skeptical; but since I got it for $1.99, I figured if it didn't work I wouldn't be out much. This was a nice surprise. I was expecting it to be blue, but the one I got is a pale yellow. At first, my budgies, Jake and Stella didn't pay much attention to it. Honestly, I think Jake may have been a little afraid of it. When there was no activity with the holder after a few hours, I tried a new tactic. This thing works much better if you cram two millet sprays into it instead of one. It pushes the sprays up against the sides of the basket and makes access to the seeds much easier. Once they get the hang of eating out of it, the holder works great. It also solves the problem of Stella ripping the sprays apart for sheer entertainment. She would tear at the stem until it was completely bare, eating little or none of the seed. Poor Jakey didn't used to even get a chance to eat any of the millet, unless he picked it out of the bottom of the cage. This thing slows Stella down considerably and she doesn't guard it from Jake the way she would a bare spray. A great solution if you have a millet monster like I do!

Heath Outdoor Products SB-3 Mounting Squirrel Baffle Review

(More customer reviews)I had to make my own collar to hold the shield since my pole was larger than the one supplied. The pesky squirrels had already figured out how to eat through the prior baffle purchased at Home Depot and had gained access to the feeders, however this clear, see-through design has stopped them. While it's smaller than my previous baffel, they are confused by it and have given up their pursuit... at least for now. This also was the best bargain I could find. I'd give it 5 stars if the collar was adjustable and didn't have to go over the top of the pole.
