The product works ok. Still doesn't keep all the ants off the oriole/hummingbird feeders. But is better than we have had.

Droll Yankees LF3 Hummingbird Feeder with Internal Ant Moat Review

Droll Yankees LF3 Hummingbird Feeder with Internal Ant Moat
Average Reviews:

Have owned this feeder for 3+ years. Had a squirrel attack several years ago...they chewed up the flowers around the feeding ports. I e-mailed the company(Droll Yankees) and they replaced these parts free of charge. I live in a very hot climate and noticed recently that the lower plastic bowl had developed a crack/leak. E-mailed the company and received a reply the very next day stating that the replacement bowl was in the mail; again free of charge.
Great company to deal with; also have the "droll yankee flipper" birdfeeder and have been equally satisfied.

Works. But, you can't see if the water level is ok. You may want to get a squirt bottle with a long tube to fill the cup

MiniBlossom Hummingbird Feeder Aqua on Stake Review

MiniBlossom Hummingbird Feeder Aqua on Stake

I love the look of this feeder, and it attracts hummingbirds just as well as the less aesthetically pleasing plastic feeders. However, it is VERY hard to keep ants from invading. The "upside down umbrella moats" will work given a few conditions. First, if you are using a planter as a base, the leaves of plants are very hard to keep below the moat. Due to the weight of the feeder and the flimsiness of the stake, it is very hard to position it so that it doesn't lean into a branch (a.k.a ant bridge). Second, the moats (sold separately) are usually black which causes the small amount of water it will hold to evaporate rapidly. Third, the moat used as an upside down umbrella have to be rigged so that they are water tight (I used some tile caulk). They are sold with the intent that petroleum jelly or something similar can fill them, but in my experience, this only provides an obstacle, not a barricade. If you are creative and like to solve little problems, then this feeder is really beautiful. If not, I would opt for the hanging feeders which are equally as beautiful. You can use a similar stake and then hang your feeder if you do not have anything to hang your feeder from (which is why I bought this particular feeder in the first place). If you have the time, come up with a creative moat of your own. Here's my idea, use a large vase, partially fill with cement (or the like) and place your stake while still wet. For added support, I filled the rest of the vase with matching different sized glass pebbles and sand for extra support. You might want to put some marbles or glass in the cement portion as well. You can then fill the vase with water, and voila you have a light reflecting ant moat! (I recommend treating the water to prevent mosquitos from breeding) To sum it up, I rate this high in form but not so great in function. By the way, I bought a teal feeder for my mom and a red for myself, and the teal really reflects the sunlight better, making the glass appear more vibrant.

I was very happy at how quickly I received this product, but was frustrated that in the description they do not tell you the size of the stopper. I was trying to replace a stopper for my feeder and when I received it, it was to small.

We have tried everything to stop the steady trail of ants into our humming bird feeders. We saw this product at another house and wanted to give it a try. The trail of ants was gone in a day. Even without refilling the water in the moat, the ants have not returned.

Aspects 367 Hummzinger Ultra Hummingbird Feeder, 12-Ounce Review

Aspects 367 Hummzinger Ultra Hummingbird Feeder, 12-Ounce
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great feeder no doubt. It is the easiest to clean and refill that I've seen. And the bright red makes the hummers go crazy. Mine have become more territorial, and they feed more often now.
Initially I had some concerns that the feeder would need to be almost completely full in order for the hummers to be able to extract any nectar (the feeder is rather deep). Turns out the little guys have pretty long tongues, so they can reach far into the feeder, even when it is close to being empty.
Can't beat the lifetime guarantee.
My only gripe is that small ants can still get inside even with the nectar guard tips in place. In my case, the ants are pretty bad, even more so than with my last feeder which had basically no protection at all.
