This is an absolutely gorgeous hummingbird feeder. It looks great close to the house and the birds love it. It doesn't leak like some of the bottom opening feeders. You'll love it!

Mills Brothers Hummingbird Food 3-Ounce Packet, 3-Pack Review

Mills Brothers Hummingbird Food 3-Ounce Packet, 3-Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have beern using this hummingbird food for years. The local hummingbirds seem to love it. I have tried others, but, the local humming birds seem to shun them. Recently I had difficulty locating the MILLS Brothers humming food locally. I found it at Amazon.
I found that by using a Rubbermaid "RefillReuse" 20 oz. plastic bottle, mixing the food with water becomes easy. One side of the bottle is marked with a 10 oz. mark and a 20 oz. mark. Between those two marks is blank mark. That would be the 15 oz. mark.
I empty a bag of hummingbird food into the bottle. Fill the bottle with water until it reaches the mark between the 10 oz. and the 20 oz. marks. Replace the cap making sure the spout is closed and shake. Done. They sell the bottle at Amazon.

I couldn't figure out how to get this stuff out of the bottle easily. I finally poked a larger hole in it and let it just run out into a measuring cup. After getting it all set up and in the feeder the hummers shunned it in favor of another feeder with only clear necter. Save your money and make your own necter with sugar, its easier!

Bloom Callipe Review

I just bought this hummingbird feeder and haven't been using it for very long, but it has a couple of problems that are obvious. First, it doesn't hang level, so one of the feeding tubes is lower than the other two. But, such is the nature of hand-blown glass, so I can live with that. The other thing that bugs me is that you can't fill it any higher than the feeding tubes. It is supposed to hold 20-ozs of nectar, I made 16-ozs and much of that leaked straight out. And because it doesn't hang level, it's even worse. It is very pretty though and I look forward to hopefully attracting many hummingbirds with it!

Garden Song® 443-24 Instant Hummingbird Food, 8 Ounce Package
Average Reviews:

You won't find a single expert on hummingbirds who recommends "instant nectar" products such as this one. Why? Because 1) they're a complete waste of your money and 2) they expose the birds to ridiculously high concentrations of inadequately tested chemicals. The cheapest and easiest feeder solution also happens to be the closest in chemical composition to natural flower nectar: a solution of 3 or 4 parts water to one part ordinary white sugar. If you want the sugar to dissolve faster, get additive-free superfine baking sugar. DON'T use honey, food coloring, Kool-Aid, Jello, or any other junk - the birds drink nectar just for the energy and get everything else their bodies need from eating insects.

Red Carpet Studio Crystal Dreams Double Cherry Hummingbird Feeder Review

Red Carpet Studio Crystal Dreams Double Cherry Hummingbird Feeder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm pleased with this set of feeders. They're as beautiful as they look in the picture. But there are some things you might want to take note of before deciding if these are for you.
First of all the globes are glass. Be careful opening the box. The two halves of the styrofoam holding the globes are not taped together and they could come apart as you remove them from the box. As a result the globes could slip out and drop and break.
The color is very nice, rich, and cheerful red, but the glass is a bit inferior. There were several bubbles and specks of trash trapped in the glass. But overall the flaws aren't too distracting.
To get them ready to use, they'll need washing. You'll need a bottle brush to get the inside clean.
The globes are round and slippery when soapy wet. Keep one hand under the globe at all times while you wash it. You might want to put several folded dishcloths in the sink to cushion the fall if you have fumble fingers.
Since the globes are red, you won't need to artificially color the sugar water. Each globe holds about a cup and a half (12 ounces) of fluid, but you're going to want to only use about one-and-a-quarter cup (10 ounces). More on that in a minute.
The typical sugar to water ratio for hummingbird feeders is five parts water to one part sugar. That works out to one-quarter cup of sugar to the one-and-one-quarter cup of water. If hummingbirds aren't coming to your feeder you can try a little stronger mix--four parts water and one part sugar. When they start coming you can go back to the five-to-one mix.
Gently stand the globes in a wide cup to hold them upright while filling. I used paper cups as stands.
The first time I used these, I filled one globe, put in the stopper, hung it up and went in to fill the other. I returned just in time to hear "plop, gurgle gurgle gurgle" as the stopper fell out and the sugar water spilled onto our porch.
Luckily the glass feeder tube in the stopper didn't break.
I found the stoppers just wouldn't stay in. No matter how firmly I pushed them in, they'd immediately start squeezing themselves right back out.
I experimented with rubber bands, but that was unattractive and just wasn't going to work anyway.
I thought about packing up the globes and about returning it, but I liked the color. And the way the globes reflect light, they're beautiful when backlit, like when viewed from inside the house.
So I tried one more thing. After filling the globes, I tried drying the inside rim of the globe and the stopper with a paper napkin -- and, bingo, that did the trick. And that's why you'll only want to use a cup and a quarter of fluid. You'll want to leave room at the top of the globe to allow you to dry the inside rim.
There's always a little sugar water spilled in the rim when you fill the globes. I don't rinse the sugar water off before I dry them with the paper napkins. I figure a little stickiness helps keep the stoppers in.
One more thing--I remove the glass feeder tubes from the stoppers before I press them into the globes firmly but with gentle pressure. I don't want to crack the globes by pushing too firmly. After the stoppers are in I put the feeder tubes back in them. I remove the red feeding tips from the tubes (each red tip has a little metal pea in it to act like a valve), turn the globes upright, and shake them gently to get the sugar water to fall down to the end of the tubes. Then I replace the tips.
Even though these aren't the most convenient or easy to clean, I like the look and think they're worth the little bit of extra effort. For hummingbird health, feeders are supposed to be kept clean with fresh sugar water. I plan to wash the feeders once a week, more often if necessary.
All hummingbird feeding takes a bit of a commitment, so keep that in mind if you're thinking about starting.
Edited to add: It's mid summer now, and I've discovered these feeders really attract yellow jackets. I finally had to switch to a bee-proof style feeder. So if you live in an area that has bees and yellow jackets you might want to choose a different type feeder, or maybe look for bee guards you can use with these.

Blossom Hummingbird Feeder Green Review

Blossom Hummingbird Feeder Green

This is a fine product. It is easy to fill and the hummingbirds seem to like it. My feeder was missing the metal cap when it came so I contacted Parasol. They were very polite and promptly sent the missing item. Most importantly, this product is designed so that it does not drip like many hummingbird feeders do. The only thing that keeps it from five stars is the finish. It is made from recycled glass which is nice but there are rather a lot of glass defects. This is fine if you are going for a rustic look but I'd prefer a smoother finish.

I have this feeder and had seven hummingbirds this summer in my Rhode Island yard. I don't like to clean so I could put the caps in recycle and use a new soda bottle each time I fill it. The hummers will fly away soon but they will be back next summer! this is the second summer I have used the HUMM and I plan to buy another for next year. Also going to give as gifts in December.

Pot de Crème Glass Review

Pot de Crème Glass
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This feeder came today, and for the most part it is what I expected. It is relatively small (a plus IMO) and though you could fill it with abt. 1 C of nectar, 1/2 C would be enough for hummingbirds to get plenty, and there would be less waste. The feeder and the flowers are entirely glass and should be very easy to clean with a flexible brush. The flowers are separate pieces and lift out for better cleaning access as well. Also the color is intrinsic to the glass and not a coating that would flake or peel with time, another plus IMO. On the negative side, there are no perches, nor are there any gaskets between the flowers and the pot which could make leakage a problem. There is not much in the way of ant deterrence, but there are other ways to deal with that issue if it comes up, so I don't regard that as a big negative YMMV. Lastly, the color of flowers is a nice deep red, just the color one would hope for, but the body of the pot is definitely on the orange end of the spectrum. Being that this is a handmade item I suspect there is natural variation in the color of the glass, which I guess is ok I was just hoping for something a bit darker. In fact if there is going to be variation, it might be nice to see some of these with splashes of color. I'd love a clear glass version with splashes of red for example, or the ability to buy replacement flowers. I suppose it is possible that the orange coloring of the glass could provide an oriole attractant (though you'd want to have another feeder nearby that they could actually eat out of!), in fact, perhaps they could make a model just for that!
I have not yet tested this yet to see if hummingbirds will indeed come to it, it is a little early yet for them to be in my area and at the end of the day that will be the real test. I'll try to remember to update that point in the comments when the time comes.
This review is for the flame red model of the Parasol Pot de Creme Hummingbird feeder.

Best-1 Hummingbird Feeder Review

Last year my husband gave me 2 of these feeders for my birthday. The birds really didn't like them as well as some other ones I had out. I was browsing a Hummingbird web site one day and found that this Hummingbird feeder are death traps for the lil' fellas. It's feeding holes are in an unnatural position and the tube that goes inside can trap their beaks and they can hang there and die. The web-site had a pictures of a hummingbird hanging from one of these feeders. They do have a fix for them. drill at an angle, for a more natural position and shave off the tube inside. We did this and the birds like it better.

MINI WINDOW HUMM FEEDER Review

MINI WINDOW HUMM FEEDER
Average Reviews:

The one I bought didn't include the little flower so I can't say how it does for hummingbirds and it didn't include the suction cup either. I can suggest an alternative use for it though - a rooting vase.
The ring holding it to the butterfly portion can be opened and the glass can be replaced upside down. It can then be hung with string and a hook, it's very cute that way and I have some herb cuttings in it. The glass portion is also sturdy enough to be just set in the window sill like you would a bud vase.

Down here in Arizona the nectar can go bad in just a few days, So cleaning easily is a must. This is ht ebest for that that i have found. By the way don't use anything but reverse osmosis water and pure sugar NO coloring! I find the ratio of 1/4 cup sugar and 8 oz. of water is good.
