The product works ok. Still doesn't keep all the ants off the oriole/hummingbird feeders. But is better than we have had.

Droll Yankees WH Window Hummingbird Feeder Review

Droll Yankees WH Window Hummingbird Feeder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have two of the Droll Yankees window feeders and another of their hanging feeders. I was just about to order several more of the window feeders as gifts when I noticed the negative review and felt compelled to respond.
With our previous, gravity-style feeders, the nectar would drip attracting a continuous stream of bees which would drive off the hummingbirds. The design of both Droll Yankee feeders is bee-proof. On occasion, a bee will explore the feeder only to give up in frustration.
It took the birds about two weeks to figure out the window feeder, but now (end of summer) it seems to be their favorite. Because it mounts on the window, I can watch the birds from only a couple of feet away. It's neat to be able to identify individual birds from their unique markings.
Use a 1-to-4 sugar-to-water mix (no coloring necessary). Wash the feeder at least weekly with regular dish detergent/water and rinse scrupulously with hot water. Don't wait until the feeder is empty for washing or refilling. Yes, you will have to disassemble the feeder for washing; it's neither difficult nor inconvenient. Relax and enjoy the weekly ritual, then enjoy the birds.

Replacement 32 Ounce Bottle for Best-1 Hummingbird Feeder Review

Replacement 32 Ounce Bottle for Best-1 Hummingbird Feeder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have been feeding hummingbirds since 1987. There are over 100 birds to feed in our California back yard. They almost empty two 32oz bottles every day.
The biggest problem with ANY other feeder is that they are impossible to CLEAN.
No problem cleaning the Best1 feeder. The simple 2 piece design of the feeder chamber is fabulous. Not only does this feeder save time for the humans - but also - a clean feeder is much healthier for the birds as well.
The only thing we did not care for is all the red paint on the outside of the bottle. But if you scrub hard enough the red paint does come off. This TRULY is the BEST feeder EVER!

I was excited to receive and hang this feeder and even more so when a hummingbird found it within 24 hrs. Unfortunately, a finch also thought it made a nice perch and immediately broke the plastic 'hooks' that hold it in place. I would imagine this would not be an isolated experience and wish the feeder had been better manufactured, especially for the price. I will buy a different type of feeder in the future.

Best 1 32 oz. Hummingbird Feeder (Bulk) Review

Best 1 32 oz. Hummingbird Feeder (Bulk)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My husband bought me 2 of these feeders for my birthday. They worked ok. the Hummingbirds used them, but not as much as my others. Mine faded the first season and the words on the outside washed of first thing, which could be a good thing.I was looking through a hummingbird web site and found that these feeders are death traps for the little guys and they had a picture of one of its victims. They said if you modify them, they are useable. To modify, First, from the bottom side of the feeder lid, re-drill each port hole outward at a 45 degree angle. Next, cut or grind the nipple from the underside. If you don't have a grinder, simply used a razor blade to cut down through the nipple at a 45 degree angle. To me it's not worth the risk to my little friends and I shouldn't have to mess around with modifying something before I use it.

Best 1- 8 oz Hummingbird Feeder Review

Best 1- 8 oz Hummingbird Feeder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the best hummingbird feeder I've ever used.
If you live in an area that gets alot of wind as I do here
in Arizona, this is the one to use. Because the base is flat and
not sloped like other feeders, when the feeder swings from
side to side no nectar leeks out. I have replaced all
of my previous feeders with this one. It also comes
in two sizes the 8oz and a quart size. Both bottles
fit the same base. I wouldn't use anything else.

Cherry Valley 12-Ounce Plastic Strawberry Hummingbird Feeder Review

Cherry Valley 12-Ounce Plastic Strawberry Hummingbird Feeder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a very nice little hummingbird feeder. It's one of only two that I've had through the years that has lasted more than one season. The others were either missing parts (usually the flowers fell off and blew away) or leaked constantly. Another nice thing about this feeder is that it's super easy to clean. You aren't left with a bunch of separate parts when you take it apart to refill it or to clean it, because there are only two parts. I usually just dunk mine in a mixture of bleach and water, rinse, and dry. It's plastic, so if you happen to drop it, it won't break. I've also had fewer problems with wasps and bees visiting this feeder than I've had with others. I'm not sure if because of the way the flowers are shaped or if it's because the flowers are red instead of yellow, but whatever the case, I'm thankful. I also like the nice small size of this feeder. Unless your yard is totally swamped with hummingbirds, this is more than enough since nectar needs to be changed so often.

Aspects Hummingbird Hummzinger Feeder Review

Aspects Hummingbird Hummzinger Feeder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This feeder is simply the best for all the reasons such as ease of cleaning, durability in construction and overall design.
-PROPER CLEANING IS A MUST-
The Hummzinger Excel by Aspects Inc. is the easiest to clean feeder that I have ever owned. Unlike the inverted bottle style feeders this feeder has no recessed or unreachable places that will harbor mold and bacteria. This feeder is simply three parts, the red top that is basically flat on the underside, the bowl like basin and a metal hangar. Cleaning is simple and requires only removing the top and flushing the top and basin out with hot water. DO NOT use soap, as hummers can taste the residue! This cleaning should be done every three or four days (more often if in a warmer climate or if mixture becomes cloudy or has black specks). Once a month soak the feeder top and basin in a mixture of 1/4-cup bleach to one gallon of water. Soak for one hour then rinse thoroughly with hot water. Dry and refill.
-What to feed? -
DO NOT BUY COMMERCIALLY AVAIALBLE NECTAR. It's a complete waste of money and they are NOT PROVEN SAFE for hummingbirds. Hummingbirds only need (from us) the sugar/water mixture that is one part CANE sugar (sucrose) to four parts water. This is a very close reproduction of natural flower nectar. Natural flower nectar is mainly water and natural sugars like sucrose and/or glucose, among some other trace sugars and elements. The other nutrients hummingbirds' need they get from catching small bugs like gnats and spiders. The sugar/water syrup recipe is stamped on the underside of the Hummzinger's lid for reference. Mix well until all the sugar is dissolved then fill your feeder. Commercial mixes contain many unneeded chemicals and red dye that has not been tested for safety in regard to hummingbirds. Don't risk them and save your money!
-Is the Hummzinger durable? -
Yes, constructed of UV stable polycarbonate and backed with a LIFETIME GAURANTEE the Hummzinger will last a lifetime. The thick plastic components of the Hummzinger are unbreakable and there is NO plastic snap on flowers to worry about. The metal hangar screws into the basin in the middle and is quite strong. No more hanging by wires that can become brittle and break.
-What other features does this feeder have? -
1) Durable construction of unbreakable UV stable polycarbonate plastics that will not fade in the sun. However to avoid syrup spoilage hang the feeder in the shade.
2) Comes with a metal hangar or is post mountable.
3) Built in ant moat with overflow drain channels, just fill with some water and hang. TIP: Only fill about half way if hanging the feeder. This will keep the water from dripping out the drain ports if you bump the feeder hanging it, like I do!
4) Solid one-piece top with raised flowers (no snap on flowers) that divert rainwater away from the six feeding ports so the syrup will not dilute.
5) 16-ounce capacity with syrup level scale on the side of the basin (4, 8, 12 and 16 ounce marks). Do not overfill!
6) All around perch that my hummers love to use. I have attracted five to feed all at once!
7) Saucer like shape makes this feeder very stable when hanging in high wind. Mine hangs about four feet and even during strong storm winds the Hummzinger barely moves. My old inverted bottle feeder would swing madly and even broke free one day!
8) Bee/Wasp proof by design! The Hummzinger is bee/wasp proof because the feeding ports sit up above the top surface of the sugar water solution. Hummers have no problem reaching the food but the shorter insect tongues cannot reach the goodies!
9) Lifetime guarantee.
10) Made by a company that does not make commercial nectar. This is also why I support Aspects Inc. not only because of the exceptional design and construction of the Hummzinger line, but also their dedication to the health of Hummingbirds by NOT offering products such as nectar, which are NOT proven SAFE for hummingbirds. They are concerned with the birds, not their profits and it shows because they do NOT make nectar and produce the best feeders available!
This truly is the BEST feeder for ALL the reasons!

Dr JB's 16CLY Hummingbird Feeder with Yellow Petals Review

Dr JB's 16CLY Hummingbird Feeder with Yellow Petals
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I already had a lot of hummingbird feeders. They all have their issues: cleaning, too small, to flimsy, whatever. This one is almost perfect: it is sturdy and absolutely easy to clean. Just two little things I do mind: the holes for the beak are a bit too small, you can see that the birds have to concentrate very much in order to get the food. Orioles, who also like to feed at hummingbird feeders, don't have a chance here. This is a pity. And: the perch is a little bit too close to the feeding holes. If the producers adjust these things over the time, it has the potential to become the best feeder.

Cherry Valley Feeder 12-Ounce Plastic Triangle Window Mounting Hummingbird Feeder Review

Cherry Valley Feeder 12-Ounce Plastic Triangle Window Mounting Hummingbird Feeder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered two of these for myself and then two for my mother because they are just too much fun to have and to watch the hummingbirds come and feed from. I especially like the fact that the hummingbirds like to check you out as you are checking them out. I was pleasantly surprised that it took only 2-3 days for them to find it, although I have a large group of birds already in my yard. I was slightly worried that they would be reluctant to feed at the sliding glass window of my house with my movements going on, as well as my English Mastiff and my 2 cats, but they seem not to mind the noise or the movement beyond the window at all. It's as if they understand they are safe from the cats on the other side of the glass Ha Ha Ha. The feeders open up easily which means easy cleanings and easy refillings, and it's nice to be able to see clearly when the food level is getting low. The only main drawback that I've found so far is that it has been a breeding site for a bug (which I haven't quite decided that it's a mosquito for sure). I guess this could also be a plus though because hummingbirds eat bugs just as often and possibly more so than they do nectar, so this may be good for them to find both foodstuffs in the same spot. I'm also not sure about bees in the summertime, but we'll have to wait until then to find out about whether that's a problem or not.

Aspects 381 Hummzinger Fancy Hummingbird Feeder - Rose Review

Aspects 381 Hummzinger Fancy Hummingbird Feeder - Rose
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Remember that last hummingbird feeder you owned that dripped constantly, attracted bumblebees and ants and required a little bottle brush to clean? You probably gave up in sheer frustration after a few months. Well those days are long gone - the first time you fill up your Hummzinger, you will be in love with hummingbird-watching all over again.
I've owned mine for four years. I love it because it's never attracted any insects, never dripped, and cleans up easily with a sponge. The local hummers love it because they can perch and rest while they feed. I hung it from a cup hook on the eaves near the back patio door and watch them year round. It stays steady and dripless even in high winds.
Whoever designed this thing has not only a lot of common sense but a good eye for aestetics. The plainer version (mine) looks like a flying saucer, which suits me, but for Mother's Day I got my mom this fancier one, which looks as if it could stack up against the pricier glass art feeders. The Hummzinger, however, wouldn't shatter if it fell on the patio.
A few tips if you are planning on purchasing this:
1. Don't bother with the replaceable insect guards that you can buy to insert into the feeding holes. They don't do anything as far as I'm able to tell, but they are a pain and an expense.
2. Pass on the commercial nectar mixes and make your own by mixing one part sugar to four parts water (this recipe is permanently printed inside the feeder's top!). No dyes. No need to boil. I realize that boiling the mixture is traditional advice, but it's based on the mistaken notion that by sterilizing it you will keep bacteria and molds from spoiling it in the feeder. Turns out that the first time a hummingbird dips his beak into the mix, he introduces all that stuff instantly anyway. If, like me, you would be discouraged from changing it as often as you should because boiling and cooling it becomes a chore, this will free you up to be a better caretaker of your little friends. Oh, and they don't need humans to add vitamin supplementation to their nectar because they get all that from the insects they eat.
3. Hang it where you can observe it easily from your home. Enjoy!
-Andrea, aka Merribelle

Aspects 153 Mini Hummzinger Hummingbird Feeder, 8-Ounce Review

Aspects 153 Mini Hummzinger Hummingbird Feeder, 8-Ounce
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I initially bought a classic "perky pet" feeder, with the glass jar draining down into several feeding "flowers." Despite the bee guards, I often saw yellowjackets hovering around it. They squeezed themselves along the underside of the bee guards to get dribbles that leaked out of the flowers. Also, I learned that bees are drawn to yellow (the color of the plastic flowers). I'm sure ants would have found the dribbles before long, as well - there were even splatters on my deck.
Also, there was no way to be sure the plastic base was really clean when I refilled it. I've heard you can poison hummers with fungus, if the feeders are not cleaned thoroughly every 3-4 days. Fungus just loves sugar water.
I looked at some hummingbird afficionado sites and apparently the hummzinger models are the way to go. The simple construction is very easy to scrub out; no hidden recesses for fungus to grow. There is no yellow on it, so less attractive to bees. I have not seen one yellowjacket since installing this! No drips, and bees can't reach nectar through the openings.
It should be refilled even when it is not empty, both because of fungus growth (I have found fungus after waiting too long), and also because it seems a bit deep for hummers to reach the bottom, unless they are a long-billed variety. (I have Anna's hummers).
I had some trouble getting the lid off for cleaning, untill I realized I could just use the brass hanger to push the base down while pulling the lid upwards.
It's worth the frequent cleaning when I can sit in my living room watching the birds enjoy their nectar. This feeder makes the maintenance as easy as possible.

Aspects 367 Hummzinger Ultra Hummingbird Feeder, 12-Ounce Review

Aspects 367 Hummzinger Ultra Hummingbird Feeder, 12-Ounce
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great feeder no doubt. It is the easiest to clean and refill that I've seen. And the bright red makes the hummers go crazy. Mine have become more territorial, and they feed more often now.
Initially I had some concerns that the feeder would need to be almost completely full in order for the hummers to be able to extract any nectar (the feeder is rather deep). Turns out the little guys have pretty long tongues, so they can reach far into the feeder, even when it is close to being empty.
Can't beat the lifetime guarantee.
My only gripe is that small ants can still get inside even with the nectar guard tips in place. In my case, the ants are pretty bad, even more so than with my last feeder which had basically no protection at all.
