(More customer reviews)I've had two of these feeders in copper, and neither of them lasted for more than a year! The fault is in the construction of the metal feeding/perching plate. It is simply bolted into the plastic tube, which is too weak to withstand the weight of the plate. So after being knocked down a time or two, whether by wind or the occasional squirrel, the plastic cracks under pressure and the entire bottom of the feeder breaks off with no way to be repaired.

(More customer reviews)What can I say? I put sunflower seed in this thing and birds come and eat it. My main concern for the feeder was the size of the seed I like to use (sunflower) and where it was made. In the USA!I did drill bigger drain holes in the bottom since I live in the Pacific Northwest and we see plenty of rain. Other than that, it's great! Been hanging out there for over a year now and still looks new. I've put about 80 pounds of sunflower seed through it and it is holding up very well. Very nice feeder for the price.

(More customer reviews)The quality of the Woodlink Tube Bird Feeder was disappointing. It is not an inexpensive feeder. The two halves of the green wire cage are fastened together with very soft silver metal clips. Two of the clips were missing and two others were bent, twisted and barely holding the cage together. This was a $50.00 feeder and not acceptable quality at this price point! The good news....the company I ordered this feeder from....UnbeatableSales...is absolutely superb in their customer service. They provided quick resolution and are wonderful to do business with.

Perky-Pet FF10 10-Inch Metal F-Inch Feeder, 1-Pound Capacity Review

It took a day for the goldfinches to realize what it was.
I did shake the feeders a little so that some of the seed would stick out and placed them next to the sock feeders. After 24 hours the finches started to use it. It will hold about 20 finches at a time ( I have the large size) and they look beautiful next to the black metal.
It isn't difficult to see how much food is left if you look straight through the sides. You can also tell by the position of the birds on the tube.

Unfortunately the hanging ring is merely glued on to the top and broke off as I took it out of the box, making the feeder effectively unusable. The seed is the same and I got plenty of birds at my old feeder. I think the problem may be access to the seed. The birds that do show up, look uncomfortable. The birds seem to prefer round feeders. You'll have to fill the feeder every day.
For reasons that are my own problem, I pictured it being bigger and holding more.
The design on the bottom is what I especially like because the seed falls instead of becoming all rancid in a tray
or bottom lip.

The only finches that can feed from the upside down feeder are the goldfinches. The purple finches and other birds cannot feed upside down. I love the red feeders and thought that is what I was purchasing. I rated this feeder low only because it was falsely advertised. I decided to keep this feeder instead of returning it and will buy the red feeder elsewhere.
