(More customer reviews)I was really disappointed when I got through all the packing paper and discovered the size of this "birdbath." Ashtray is more like it. It's maybe 12 inches long and about 8 inches wide -- I didn't measure it; that's an estimate. But the point is, it looks like a full-size birdbath in the picture, and it's nowhere near that. I ordered it as a replacement bowl for the birdbath I have, and this thing wouldn't even cover the hole.
It's nice for an ashtray. The thing is, there's a small hole on one side of the "trough" that's not supposed to be there. Maybe that was just a defect on the one I got. There's two holes on the edges where you screw in the birdies, but then an extra hole where the water's supposed to go! duh! I'm sending it back!

After getting it all set up and in the feeder the hummers shunned it in favor of another feeder with only clear necter. Save your money and make your own necter with sugar, its easier!

(More customer reviews)I just bought this hummingbird feeder and haven't been using it for very long, but it has a couple of problems that are obvious. First, it doesn't hang level, so one of the feeding tubes is lower than the other two. But, such is the nature of hand-blown glass, so I can live with that. The other thing that bugs me is that you can't fill it any higher than the feeding tubes. It is supposed to hold 20-ozs of nectar, I made 16-ozs and much of that leaked straight out. And because it doesn't hang level, it's even worse. It is very pretty though and I look forward to hopefully attracting many hummingbirds with it!

It's ability to hold so much more seed than just a platform feeder, and protect it a little longer makes this a very nice purchase. It has helped to attract cardinals, blue jays and indigo buntings to the yard, and my regulars enjoy it too. It just thrills me to see more species up close! I highly recommend it!

Also, condensation forms between the window glass and film putting splotches on the window side of the film that cannot very easily be cleaned off. Previously I have used the kind of film that adheres to the glass and this worked better for both the viewing problem and the condensation problem.

(More customer reviews)We live in a rural, wooded area. Tons of squirrels and chipmunks. I hung this up and kept an eye on it for over two months in the late spring, early summer. The squirrels completely ignored it. I noticed that even the raccoons didn't bother with this Squirrelog. The reason I give it 3 stars, instead of 1 or 2 stars, is perhaps this Squirrelog would be better received by the squirrels if I'd hung it up in the winter, and food was more scarce? I'm not sure, but our winters aren't cold anyway.
In any case, it became both a home and a source of food for little bugs/beetles, so I finally threw it away.
