(More customer reviews)Bought this a gift for my girlfriend. You can use any type of birdseed but sunflower/cardinal mix works well. It is ceramic so you have to be careful when handling or cleaning but seems very durable. Looks good in the back yard and squirrels haven't figured out how to lift the lid (yet).

(More customer reviews)Recently got this feeder, and the birds seem to like it alot. Really nice looking too. But there is one small problem, that I didn't notice till the birds started feeding. The feeder bracket that holds the glass feeder, comes with 3 perches. The perches are slightly out to far, thus only the adult birds can sit and feed. Smaller birds either have to sit and really lean to get to the nectar, or just hover over the flower and feed that way, which kind of defeats the purpose of having perches. Other than that, i'm glad I purchased the feeder. You also might want to consider getting a wind and rain guard. When it rains, water can easily enter the glass flowers. You can also get glass flowers with a plastic sleeve that keeps out bees, but the flowers they come with, the bees really can't get to the nectar anyway. Good quality feeder, you won't go wrong.

(More customer reviews)I love these feeders as the glass is easy to use a bleach solution to sterilize with no lingering bleach smell. This purchase was my third in this style. However, the picture shows the glass feeding tubes (they are ~$6 plus shipping each to replace, available on another site). The feeder I received came with plastic feeding flowers, not the glass as shown. The long glass tubes let the hummers sip the nectar (like a straw)from a lower fill level whereas with the plastic - you'll have to refill the nectar much sooner as they are even with the openings at the top of the feeder. Bird Brain Sequin Bird Feeder Square Review

(More customer reviews)This is a very pretty feeder; however, it is quite dark. So far, the finches have not found it but I'm ever hopeful that they will. If it was make of lighter colors, I would give it a 5-star rating. This company makes feeders in lighter colors (which is what led me to purchase this one along with two others); but, these are all too dark to show up well when hanging from the trees.
