(More customer reviews)I had this feeder on the tree, and did get my woodpeckers. Also, starling birds didn't like it, and gave up soon. However, I did notice the woodpeckers vanish after the winter.
So I set up a cage type of feeder, and noticed the birds prefer this. I was even surprised to see a robin go after the suet.
I had to wire electricy to this cage to keep off squirrels and starlings, and raccoons. 7 thousand volts that I could swithc on. By shocking them, they never came back. I have many woodpeckers now, coming all throught out the year.
The upside down feeder is ok, but the birds would
prefer a vertical feeder attached to a tree limb. Hank in Indianapolis.
