As it is, this is very well built and very easily mounts on the upright "pickets" of your deck (for instance) and will hold a surprising load, unlike the clamp-on hooks in wide use. We've got it holding the large Brome "Squirrel Buster Plus", which weighs roughly three tons when full of hulled sunflower seed. Well, OK. Maybe two tons.
