(More customer reviews)Hook is 8 feet long measuring from very bottom of the pole around the radius to the bottom of the hook. Thus, when installed in the ground, the actual hook is only about 6 feet from the ground. So this places the perch of a "normal" size bird feeder (e.g., the Brome 1024) about 4 feet from the ground -- much lower than desired. In addition, the hook is green and not black as it appears in the photo. On the positive side, it does appear to be sturdy. But would not have ordered this product had I been aware of the actual height of the hook from the ground.
