Ez Fill Bottom Suet Feeder Review

First of all this is a suet feeder, not a window seed feeder as stated here. I bought this somewhere else but the birds wanted no part of it. Tried sticking branches in it but no luck. The mesh openings are too small. When filled I believe there is too much weight pressing on the screen keeping the birds from grabbing on. I ended up taking the roof part off & pressing it onto a standard wire suet basket which has worked out perfectly. Now the suet stays dry & it keeps out the big birds allowing the little guys to eat in peace. This was an expensive way to get a covered feeder.

Single Cake Upside Down Suet Feeder w/Hanging Cable Review

In the beginning the grackles were frustrated feathery creatures when this was first introduced
to my back yard feeder. My triumphant moment would soon be replaced by expletives that would make mother nature cringe. The grackles have grown comfortable with a quick upside down hang and like the marauding pirates of the flight world that they are, they devour the suet cake in a matter of day's. They've also grown more brazen as I step outside not leaving until I launch a frisbee, soccer ball or any other object that will serve as a willing projectile toward their general direction.. Aghhh, curse these evil birds from a Hitchcock novel that have gotten the better of me. One day your time will come, my feathery foes....... :)

Birds Choice Single Cake Upside Down Suet Bird Feeder With Hanging Cable In Your Choice Color Review

I had this feeder on the tree, and did get my woodpeckers. Also, starling birds didn't like it, and gave up soon. However, I did notice the woodpeckers vanish after the winter.
So I set up a cage type of feeder, and noticed the birds prefer this. I was even surprised to see a robin go after the suet.
I had to wire electricy to this cage to keep off squirrels and starlings, and raccoons. 7 thousand volts that I could swithc on. By shocking them, they never came back. I have many woodpeckers now, coming all throught out the year.
The upside down feeder is ok, but the birds would
prefer a vertical feeder attached to a tree limb. Hank in Indianapolis.

Well made item. Starlings can't get to the suet which is exactly what I wanted. Takes a few weeks to a couple of months before birds can figure out how to use so be patient.
