Once we figured out what types of birdseed to feed them (thistle & safflower in this feeder; sunflower ok too, only but in squirrel-proof type w/cage), have no problem. (Sorry the other person had a packing problem--hopefully amazon took care of it for you.) We love watching our birds at this feeder!
