(More customer reviews)My main intent in buying this feeder was to prevent the large bully birds (grackles,red-winged black black birds, cowbirds, etc) from monopolizing the feeders, not allowing the smaller birds any time to feed. After reading the description of this feeder, I thought I had finally found one to fill my desire. NOT! The only small bird that I've ever seen go inside to the tube feeder perches was a Chickadee and a ONE nuthatch, but most of them won't go inside, they just sit on the tray then leave. No titmice, goldfinches, none of the small birds listed in the description. I think the wire cage intimidates them. But the bully birds still try their darnedest, hanging on to the wire cage, sometimes two or three at a time, trying to get to the seeds, picking up seeds from the tray that have spilled out when they cause the feeder to swing back & forth with their constant flying on & off the cage or that the occasional small bird drops cuz they're looking for their favorite seed.
This feeder does not "perform" as described. It's not what I was looking for, that's for sure. I felt this was my last resort, but alas, it failed the test. Back to my search of "how to get rid of the large bully birds from my feeders?" : (
