(More customer reviews)I bought this bird feeder after looking locally for a large feeder - prices were out of sight here. This is a strong & heavy feeder. It may not hang on your average hook or limb. It's made for almost any feed except thistle. Ours is loaded with half chicken scratch and half bird seed mix from our local feed store. It easily comes apart and goes back together for refill or cleaning.

While still being a nice large feeder I found out that rain will fill the bird seed tray and soak up into the entire container of feed where it sours or ferments. The base needs to be worked over. I have a good metal and woodworking shop. I imagine I'll remove what base I can and still retain the feeder holes and assembly full length screw and attach a flat wooden and/or screen wire platform. See photo.

Enjoy nourishing a wide variety of birds with a perfectly beautiful and functional bird feeder. The feeding shelf circles all the way around under the feeder globe to offer ample perching space for several birds at once. And the glass and bright copper-finished design of the feeder gives it a handsome lantern appearance that coordinates beautifully with most outdoor lighting styles. And why not stay decoratively coordinated while providing a good service for the birds?
Measuring 11 by 11 by 13 inches, the feeder is compact, yet functional. Its lid unscrews from the top, allowing it to be easily filled with up to 90 ounces of bird feed. Designed to be rust resistant, the feeder is constructed of hammered bubble glass and durable iron with a brushed copper finish. It is easily cleaned with soap and water. Some minor assembly is required on arrival.
Strathwood décor has quality, ease of use, and casual elegance at its core. This classic style and reliable craftsmanship will weather ever-changing trends and regular use for years to come.
