There are a myriad of choices available for Suet, but quite simply This version is THE BEST AVAILABLE...Most are loaded with cheap fillers and they sit for a long time or go rancid before the birds eat them....I get a huge amount of woodpeckers that come looking specifically for this suet including, Red-bellied, Hairy, downy and the occasional Pileated. This suet is jam packed with nuts that the birds Love, especially in the winter months-however, they come year round looking for this special treat. It is also extremely popular in the summer months when the adults bring their fledglings for a lesson on where to find the good stuff....Most of the time, the woodpeckers come just for this suet, even though there are peanuts and sunflower seed offered seperately...other birds that I have observed eating this suet are... Flickers, nuthatches, titmice,Brown creepers, crows, chickadees, and some finches. It is difficult to find in most retail stores, so this is your best bet, and STOCK-UP!!!....
