We use it with the Humzinger hummingbird feeder in the summer (easily the best hummingbird feeder we have ever used) and it helps to keep the feeder shaded in sun and dry when it rains. We use it in the winter with a regular seed feeder for winter birds, and it keeps the seed dry and free of snow. It has held up very well being outside 24/7 all year round for at least 5 years now, and it's still going strong.
